Im Januar 2022 stand die alte Tankstelle leer, zum ersten Mal seit Jahrzehnten parkten dort keine Autos mehr. Die Gelegenheit, etwas Neues zu beginnen, ergab sich einige Monate später im Mai. Die ursprüngliche Idee war, einfach eine Tankstelle nicht für Autos, sondern für Fahrräder zu haben, daher der Name.    

Es gab auch die Motivation, etwas für die Nachbarschaft zu schaffen, da in der Gegend nicht viel los ist, und so wurde beschlossen, ein Café/Bar mit kulturellen Veranstaltungen einzurichten. Seitdem hat sich diese alte Tankstelle mit Hilfe von Freunden in ein lebendiges Café mit Biergarten verwandelt.

Das Team der Rad Tanke befindet sich ehrlich gesagt teilweise noch in einem Findungsprozess. Aber durch die fleißigen und ehrenamtlichen Hände konnte dieses Projekt "Rad Tanke" überhaupt erst gestartet und umgesetzt werden.

Unsere Freunde und das Team wachsen weiter mit der klaren Vision, einen Raum zu schaffen, der Kunst und Kultur fördert und offen für alle ist, ohne Diskriminierung, Rassismus und Sexismus.

In January 2022 the old Gas station was empty, for the first time since decades, there was no cars parked in it. The opportunity to start something new came up some months later in May. The initial idea was to simply have a Gas station not for cars but for bikes, that’s where the name comes from.    

There was also a motivation to create something for the neighbourhood since there is not much happening around the area, it was decided to make a cafe/bar with cultural events.
Since then, with the help of friends this old gas station has turned into a lively cafe with beer garden.

The Rad Tanke team is honestly still partly in a finding process. But through the hard working and voluntary hands this project "Rad Tanke" could be started and implemented at all.

Our friends and Team continue to grow with a clear vision of creating a space that promotes art, culture and is open to everyone without discrimination, racism and sexism.
